A Roadmap to Enterprise Integration

by Mike Ferguson

Description

In today's tough economic climate Business executives are looking to reduce costs, improve efficiency and increase self-service. In order to achieve this however they need to integrate their data, their applications, their Business processes and their user interfaces.
In fact the need to integrate across the Enterprise has never been so acute with many companies no longer prepared to live with the problems that stand-alone Business silos bring. These problems include:

  • Lack of common integrated Business processes across and between Enterprises
  • Fractured inconsistent data with no common data names, data definitions and no common understanding
  • No common consistent Enterprise Business rules
  • Little or no understanding of Business events and no timely response to these events in Business process operations
  • Users of one system are not notified of events in other systems
  • Lack of access to timely information about business problems and opportunities, and Business events
  • Business Intelligence not available to people in many operational roles

It is also clear that IT complexity is increasing faster than the business value from it with total cost of ownership of IT being much too high.
This new two-day seminar defines an architecture for enterprise integration, describes the technologies involved and provides a methodology on how to go about doing it.
